Jesse Groover

Currently lives in: Franklinton, NC
Instruments: Banjo, mandolin, pennywhistle
Jesse is the sound technician for the band. He takes care of all the equipment and setup, and knows which microphone goes where when the rest of us don’t have a clue. He also knows how to work the mixer, which is a feat in itself. Jesse got a banjo for his twelfth birthday and took off with it. He took lessons for a few years from Steve Ijames, and is now playing on his own. He took up mandolin in 2006 and quickly became proficient enough to play it in shows. He also likes to pull the pennywhistle out on a few slow songs. He sometimes plays bass on recordings. Jesse is home schooled.
If you can’t find him, try: His room (he’ll be playing banjo or mandolin along with his CD player, recording a song, mixing an already recorded song, making something involving a lot of string and knots, or studying), outside (he’ll be working on his go-cart), the computer (he’ll be studying, working on a song with TablEdit, chatting, or hanging out on Banjo Hangout), or somewhere where there’s swing music (he’ll be running the mixer).
Favorite bands/musicians: Earl Scruggs of course! Some Don Reno, Sammy Shelor, and the Lonesome River Band, Allison Krauss, etc. etc.
Favorite songs: Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Sledd Ridin’, Blackberry Blossom, Salt Creek….
Favorite books: The Three Musketeers, Seutonius’ The Twelve Caesars, The Aeneid and a couple others that I can’t think of right now
Favorite movies: The Bourne movies, No Deposit No Return, The Princess Bride….
Favorite foods: Red Beans and Rice!
Quirks: Uh, hehehe, I’m just me. I’m a normal dude. Without quirks. Riiiiight
Most unanswerable quandary: What was I thinking?!
Most impossible aim: To play fiddle. ;-P
